Self Defense Classes

Are you looking for Self Defense Classes in NJ?

Possibly the greatest benefit of martial arts training is having the confidence to defend yourself in all situations. If you are looking for self defense classes then come check out NJ United Mixed Martial Arts.  At NJ United MMA you will learn the necessary skills to defend yourself in a self defense situation. You will be prepared for any situation whether it be an attacker threatening you on your feet, with weapons, or in the event that the altercation goes to the ground. The techniques are designed to allow the smaller and weaker person to defend themselves against a larger and stronger attacker which is important for hand to hand combat, because in real life there are no weight classes.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing are known for their application to Mixed Martial Arts fighting, but these individual martial arts also address the self defense aspect of real life fighting.  You will learn how to defend against techniques not allowed in UFC or Mixed Martial Arts fighting (example: headbutts, eye gouges, etc). What many people don’t realize is that both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing gained popularity in vale tudo (no holds barred) fighting which had little or no formal rules. BJJ and Muay Thai in their purest forms are essentially self defense classes that will help you increase your confidence while learning real world techniques. The core of both of these arts focus on defending yourself without rules and organized MMA events. Our self defense classes also help students increase their confidence which has a tremendous impact on all aspects of life.

All my life I was an athlete, I played baseball since I was old enough to remember. As I got a little older I also started playing football for the town team as well. Throughout high school I played both sports, but never really had enough success to continue playing after I graduated. Upon going away to college I quicky found that there was a HUGE void missing in my life. I no longer had that physical outlet to get that release that sports had provided me throughout my childhood. It wasn’t until my last semester in college that I found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It was then that I knew my life would change forever. I could not believe how much fun training BJJ was, it consumed all of my thoughts.

Now fast forward 8 years and I am still in love with the art that I stumbled upon in my mid twenties. If you are in a similar situation then come to NJ United Mixed Martial Arts and learn the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in New Jersey! Listen to one of my students talk about why his experience training at the best academy for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in New Jersey, NJ United Mixed Martial Arts!
