Remember all NJ United MMA white belts must test at the end of every month to complete the BJJ 101 curriculum. Congratulations to Tom Gaffney for receiving his 1st degree on his white belt.

Here is a video of Team Lloyd Irvin’s newest Black Belt Jimmy Harbison. Jimmy just won the Mundial World Championships, the Pan American Championships, and the Brazilian Nationals at brown belt in 2011. Look out for big things from Jimmy in the future….

Congratulations to JV Emperio for winning the GOLD medal at NAGA in Hartford, Connecticut today!!! JV was the only NJ United MMA student to make the trip up to Harford and he represented bringing home the GOLD!!! JV won two of his matches using the “papercutter” choke that he had just learned in class the past two weeks!!!  Repetition refines technique!!!  Great job JV!!!

Team Lloyd Irvin’s standout MMA fighter Mike “The Hulk” Easton just recently signed to fight for the UFC!!!   Mike will be fighting Jeff Hougland at UFC on Versus 6 in Washington D.C. in October.  Ten years ago Mike approached Master Lloyd Irvin as a white belt and told him that he wanted to fight in the UFC.  Ten years later that dream has come true!!!  Congratulations Mike!!!
