Totowa MMA: A look inside NJ United Mixed Martial Arts Academy

Jiu Jitsu instructor saves police officer

Check out this article about a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor that saved a police officer who was getting beaten up during an altercation with a man in San Francisco, California.  The officer tried to issue a citation to a man when the man punched the officer in the face repeatedly and then tackled him on the ground continuing the assault.  Luckily the attack took place outside of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school where the instructor came outside and put the attacker in a choke hold forcing him to give up. The man was then arrested and brought to the police station.  Click on the link to see the article:

Luckily the Jiu Jitsu instructor was there to save the officer.  Had the attack continued who knows what could have happened if the man would have got a hold of the officers weapon.  Every law enforcement officer should practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to make them more proficient at their job.  Not knowing what to do in a physical altercation can be a terrifying experience for a police officer. Even a basic knowledge of Jiu Jitsu could have allowed the officer to subdue the attacker and prevented the situation from escalating.
