Come to Hooters Restaurant on Route 23 South in Wayne, NJ to watch UFC 128 Jones vs. Shogun Saturday night, 3/19. It is a great fight card and is sure to be a good time!!! Prelim fights start at 9pm and the main card starts at 10pm. Get there a little early to get your seat!!!

We also had a big promotion tonight!!! Ron Suayan received his Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!!! Ron is a great student of the art and is a huge asset to our gym!!! Congratulations Ron!!!

We will be resuming classes tomorrow (Thursday) 3/17. The contractors will be working throughout the evening tonight, so we will not be able to throw the mats down and train. Here is a video of the basic X-Choke that we have been going over in our BJJ 101 classes used at the highest level of black belt competition. Margarida ends up finishing the choke from butterfly guard. Margarida and Fabio Gurgel are two legends in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and are among the best of all time. It’s all about the basics….

The water has receded and we will start work on the gym Tuesday morning. We will be having classes running again Thursday night. Attention all NJ United MMA students, we will be closed for the next few days due to the flooding in Wayne. The roads, parking lot, and gym are completely under water. Luckily all of the mats and equipment are safe and sound, and once the water recedes we will begin classes again. I would like to thank everyone for your patience.
