Congratulations to NJ United MMA student Ronald Suayan for winning 3rd place in the NO Gi Adult Basic Leve division and 4th place in the Gi Adult White Belt Leve division in the Philippine International BJJ Open. Ron had 28 competitors in his NO Gi division and 32 competitors in the Gi division. At 37 years old Ron still competes in the 18-29 year old age bracket and continues to impress everytime!!!!!

Looking forward to a great Sunday class tomorrow!!! Last week we had 21 students on the mat in our BJJ 101 class at 11am!!! Don’t forget about instructor Derek’s birthday party Tuesday night!!!

We are having an affiliation tournament on April 23rd at BJJ United just outside of Philadelphia, PA!!! This tournament is open to all BJJ United affiliates. Great kids class today, children’s instructor Derek Havran is doing a great job with the program.  With a Masters Degree in Education from Farleigh Dickinson University and experience as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher, Derek is able to apply his educational background to martial arts to allow each student to achieve their goals.   The Little Spartans Team is growing stronger every week!!!  I’m looking forward to seeing our kids martial arts program continue to have success.  

Our Combat Gold Team training was a huge success today!!! We did some great cardio drills, positional and situational drilling, and then got some hard rolling in at the end of class.  Keep it up guys, I’m looking for big things in 2011!!!
