Jay Hayes wins Bronze at 2012 World Championships

Proudly representing Team Lloyd Irvin, NJ United Mixed Martial Arts instructor Jay Hayes wins the Bronze medal in the Masters Black Belt middleweight division at the 2012 IBJJF No Gi World Championships. This marked Jay’s first medal at the Worlds, coming one win short of a bronze in 2008 and 2009 as a brown belt. After winning by triangle choke in the quarterfinals Jay came up short in a close match (2-0) to last years world champion.  This gives Jay 3 medals at the prestigious Pan American Championships and 1 medal at the World Championships.

Team Lloyd Irvin had great success at the 2012 IBJJF No Gi World Championships, taking 2nd place in the overall team results. Master Lloyd Irvin’s “medal chasers” from the team’s headquarters in Camp Springs, MD proved why Team Lloyd Irvin is a force to be reckoned with at every belt level!
