Jiu Jitsu Competition
This afternoon I got to train with some of my friends including one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors in the world, Rafael Lovato, Jr. Rafael is one of only two Americans to EVER win the Mundial World Championships in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The first and only other American to win the Worlds was former UFC lightweight and welterweight world champion BJ Penn, who won the gold in 2000. Rafael captured the gold medal in 2007 and along with my teammates JT Torres and Jimmy Harbison, are gunning to get their names included in the record books many more times in the future.
Getting on the mats with such a focused and skilled competitor makes me miss competing so much. The last time I competed was 2010 when I won the lightweight Head 2 Head Combat professional division. I’m confident in saying that I will be back competing again this year!

Come take a look over my shoulder and get a sneak peak at what's going on at our Academy in Totowa, New Jersey on a daily basis..
