2004… Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championships… Tijuca Tenis Clube, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil… This match was an historic moment between two legends of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Multiple time BJJ World Champion and current UFC Middleweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza faced fellow BJJ World Champ and former UFC fighter, Roger Gracie. I was fortunate enough to compete on these same mats a few days earlier as a blue belt. The atmosphere inside the Tijuca Tenis Clube was intense and super motivating. It was an awesome experience that’s for sure…
